This site offers documentation of two collaborative virtual worlds by the Decameron Collective:

Decameron 2.0 | WebGL | 2022

Memory Eternal | Immersive Virtual Reality | 2023

Decameron 2.0 and Memory Eternal are both immersive artworks that also act as galleries where viewers are invited to explore and interact with works of electronic literature, poetry, video, audio, 3D objects, and photography. 

As born-digital pieces that contain multiple artworks installed within them, both Decameron 2.0 and Memory Eternal are vulnerable to technological obsolescence. This Omeka site is driven by a "duty to document" these ephemeral digital artworks. Understood somewhat poetically, the duty to document also pervades both Decameron 2.0 and Memory Eternal. They serve as documents of multiple upheavals, pain, lightness, and loss during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. They offer poetic, creative records of aspects of experience that tend to slip and fade from cultural memory and the historical record.
